The best thing about Darby-Darbs is that she knows exactly who she is and is fully accepting of that. She is probably one of the prettiest girls at school and yet prefers skinny jeans, a ponytail, tennis shoes, and one of my old huge sweatshirts to most other school outfits. She is aware of her weaknesses but still tries hard to improve. She finds joy in creativity and she knows what she is good at. Like I said, she knows who she is. Darby is the kind of girl who had her best friend move recently and yet is still happy going to school and becoming closer with others in her class. She is adventurous (she wants to go toLatvia, just to go there, no other reason), is sometimes irrational and maybe slightly irresponsible, but also one of the best friends you could ask for.
I hope that when I grow up I can be more like my sister. Knowing more clearly my weaknesses and being ok with them, willing to improve. Knowing also my strengths and building confidence from them, even if others are still better than me in those fields. More willing to laugh and relax and dream.
Darby- I love you! Happy Birthday!

I love you Ashtyn! I miss you so much<3
ReplyDeleteI feel so blessed to have 4 amazing kids! I am glad that you can recognize the strengths of others and to never suppress a generous thought. I love you Ashtyn! Darby learned from the best :)
ReplyDeleteAnn again. You will have to remember it's me because I don't know how to change that. What a fabulous tribute. In Brittany's last letter to me she told me how touched she was by a letter from Darby-Darbs! She admitted to crying! That doesn't happen very much! Happy Birthday Chocolate Chip!!!
